Concept

In clothes, besides comfort, impeccable workmanship and natural fabrics, composition and rhythm are important. Each piece has its architecture thanks to elegant accents, complex silhouettes and combinations of textures.

Brand History

The brand was created in 2015 by designer-architect Nadezhda Maryina when her daughter Dominika turned 2 years old. Having a fine sense of style and colour, Nadezhda painstakingly collected images for the little girl and had a hard time finding suitable things in the mass market. This is how the idea to create her brand was born, which reflects the endless love of a mother for her child, and each product combines comfort, impeccable quality in the smallest details and stylish visual solutions. The name of Miko brand was born from the nickname Mika, and the girl herself became the embodiment and model of the brand. Having started with a few elegant dresses for a two-year-old baby girl, today the brand presents several lines for children from birth to adolescence, has its production workshop in the centre of Yekaterinburg, a professional team and delivery of products all over the world.

The perfect time for creativity?
Lately, I've grown to love mornings. My husband and daughter are out of the house, and it's so quiet and peaceful. I also feel very comfortable working when it's snowing or raining
It's a perfect place?
I love our workshop. The girls are each slowly doing their own thing, everyone is swarming, and it creates some inexpressible harmony and cosiness
Favourite thing about the brand?
Probably our basic suits. We've made them so cosy and warm, so well-made in terms of volume and density, that the whole team wears them without taking them off
Favourite part of the fashion process?
I'm interested in every step of the process. But the best part is probably the shoot. When the image is fully assembled, we see the result of the work. And, of course, we love to upload the photos to social networks and get feedback
What fragrance is associated with the brand?
We love Moschino Toy. Or something floral and caramel - we are a children's brand
The perfect location for a shoot in the Urals?
I was impressed by the photos of the Kamennaya River near Zlatoust - huge cobblestones, and a coniferous forest in the background. I think this is very close to my heart
The most difficult thing when creating a new collection?
To decide, to choose from the many options and ideas, what we will realize. And in this, I am helped by the rest of the products, because the collection should always look as a whole, and therefore dictates its own rules
What advice would you give yourself at the beginning of your journey?
Be sure that every step you take, every action you take, will lead to something good

What will change fashion in the near future?
It always has been and always will be: fashion is changed by people. The way we relate to the world around us, to each other, invariably affects what we create
