Eclata

Brand founders: Maria Saychenko and Nadezhda Solovarova

Brand DNA

Bold sensual shapes and silhouettes, thoughtful combinations of textures, complex, often deconstructive cuts, unexpected colour combinations and details.

Concept

The name of the brand symbolizes a woman's name, which carries pulsating energy, explosion of emotions, brilliance and inspiration by images of women. Each collection of the brand tells a story about how femininity and masculinity can be combined in one thing, how harmonious and bold a woman can look at the same time, and how fragile and tough she can be.

Brand History

ÉCLATA was launched in March 2020, just 3 days before the announced lockdown. From the very beginning, Maria and Nadezhda decided not to launch the brand with a basic wardrobe, but to position the project as a design project, because they wanted to work with colour and shapes, construction and silhouette. Thus creating clothes that were lacking in the Russian market. As a result, the debut SS 2020 collection was born with an active colour palette and ambiguous textures.

ÉCLATA is accent clothing for girls who already have a basic closet and want to diversify it with bright and sophisticated pieces.

Blitz

The perfect time for creativity?
Evening. When the hustle and bustle of the day is gone, you can calm down and reflect
Ideal place for creativity?
A desk with impeccable order
The music track that is best to create to?
Russian rock: Zemfira, Diana Arbenina. It would seem that such music is not very consonant with the brand's style. But if you look closely at the way we style things and choose details, the "rock" mood is obvious
Which brand's item you want to wear without taking it off?
A grey maxi jacket that's suitable for all occasions and a black jumper from the latest collection
Favourite and unfavourite parts of the creative process?
I love coming up with ideas, digging around for ideas, and collecting references. And my least favourite part of the process starts when the patterns go into production. There are a lot of technical issues, communication between departments, rework, shrinkage checks, etc. Another one of my dislikes is buying and sourcing fabrics. When you have a certain vision of the result in your head, it's sometimes difficult to find the right material
What literary character would you make the face of the brand?
The main character from the novel "Atlas Shrugged". She works in the family business, she is passionate about her work and offers revolutionary ideas that seem unrealistic to everyone. But she confidently brings them to life, because there is excitement and love for her business
The perfect location in the Urals for the shoot?
My friends and I love travelling through the Ural Mountains and have seen so many beautiful places. I think it would be spectacular to do that on the Arakulsky Shikhan
What is the most difficult thing in creating a collection?
To achieve a result that I will like. I am a very self-critical person, and I can't put something out into life until I am completely satisfied
Advice you would give yourself when starting?
Move by small steps. Don't wait for something to shoot up, but do regular work that develops you
Brand in a word?
Sexy elegance
What will change fashion in the near future?
Around 2013, a lot of people were saying that artists are gone, only stylists are left. And designers are only getting away with combinatorics and new combinations. All the styles have already been created (the last one was grunge), and nothing new can be invented. And it seems to me that now people want to be creators, and their ambitions to create something new are growing. Therefore, unique products with an extraordinary vision will be created
