Afalina Dol
Brand DNA
Classic stylish models, experiments with color, an eco-friendly approach, and in-house production.
Concept
Afalina Dol is about caring for the environment through conscious consumption. The brand does not copy fleeting trends but creates universal classic models. This approach is a personal contribution to combating overconsumption and fast fashion. Additionally, only eco-leather is used for the production of the bags.
Brand History
Afalina Dol was born thanks to hippies, shortages, and a fur hat. Let us explain how all this is connected. The 1970s were the era of hippies, the Beatles, and flared pants. However, the youth fashion didn’t impress the older generation: Sergey’s mother categorically refused to buy or sew such clothes for her son. Sergey had no choice but to secretly alter classic shirts and pants while his strict mother was at work. This was his first (quite successful) sewing experience. In the 1980s, after the army, Sergey was "legally" allowed to use a sewing machine and made his first suit. Then came his first experience in commerce—selling quilted coats, leather jackets, and denim skirts, which sold like hotcakes at the Shuvakish market. Then the 90s hit: empty shelves, working in elevator repair during the day and driving a taxi at night, and the shuttle business. This is when the fur hat took center stage.
One day, while holding a trendy ushanka, Sergey felt a pleasant creative itch. Instead of reselling these hats, he soon began sewing them. This continued his life’s work. However, ushankas turned out to be profitable but seasonal. And he no longer wanted to do anything but sewing. So, in March 2000, the idea of creating bags emerged. Gradually, the brand developed its own concept, recognizable style, and gained loyal customers. This is how, under challenging circumstances, the family brand Afalina Dol was born.
