Brand History

The story of CHAMOVSKIKH began in 1996 in Yekaterinburg, a city at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, where fine jewellery artistry has centuries-old traditions and jewellery stands out with its unique style. The Urals mountains are famed for their deposits of rare gemstones, and a love for these unique minerals is passed down through generations, almost genetically ingrained. This heritage fosters new talents, whose vision and dedication turn them into outstanding creators. Alexander Chamovskikh, the founder of the fashion house, developed an interest in jewellery at the age of 18. The early years were spent searching for the perfect manufacturer, but none met the desired quality standard. This led to the decision to establish his own production. After perfecting the technological processes, Chamovskikh set a new goal: to use only gemstones of exceptional quality in the jewellery. Since then, he personally inspected lots at the world's leading gem markets. Today, the brand bearing his name is globally recognised for its unique jewellery with transformative capabilities.

What does your work mean to you at this moment?

For me, it’s a way of life filled with encounters with interesting people and unique stories. We create, we bring something new into existence — something that has never existed before, something beautiful and valuable. Knowing that our jewellery witnesses the most significant events in our clients’ lives — weddings, births, anniversaries, and milestones is fulfilling. These pieces become part of family traditions and are passed down through generations. This sense of connection makes our work truly meaningful and inspiring

What advice would you give your younger self?

Honestly, it’s hard to answer definitively. I don’t think I ever made a wrong decision in life. I wouldn’t change or redo anything. My guiding principles have always been to work hard and stay true to myself. That’s the advice I’d give, and it works well for the jewellery house, where we constantly strive for high standards and healthy perfectionism

What’s the most challenging part of creating a new collection?

More than 70% of the brand’s jewellery is made from custom sketches. We turn jewellery dreams into reality. In the pursuit of perfection, we often face maximalism. I wouldn’t call it a “challenge,” but sometimes there are heated discussions and even disagreements within the team. We debate how things could have been done better or what was overlooked. Ultimately, we never shy away from redoing everything from scratch if it means improving the result. Our conscience doesn’t allow us to do otherwise

What’s the ideal location in the Urals for a jewellery collection photoshoot?

Currently, the best location in Yekaterinburg for any photoshoot is the Veneziano Theatre and the Lombardia Event Hall

What do you think will shape jewellery fashion in the near future?

Jewellery fashion is quite conservative and varies across price segments. Mass-market jewellery is one thing, but in High Jewellery, trends are driven by gemstones, particularly coloured stones. Recently, the reputation of colourless diamonds has suffered due to synthetic alternatives. Some countries and companies promote synthetic stones, but natural-coloured gemstones are easily distinguished even by the naked eye. These pieces of nature carry energy, confidence, and strength. Coloured stones of impeccable quality and design execution are a current and future trend. Jewellery compositions should be elegant, though preferences vary — some favour understated pieces, while others opt for bold, expressive creations that highlight their individuality
